Some very big names have risen to the challenge, including Grayson Perry, Nick Hornby, Rana Begum and Alison Wilding. Cathie Pilkington has created a striking horse from the tiny wax bundle, priced at £2,000, while Richard Wilson’s toffee creation costs £500. These endearing mini sculptures—cast in bronze at The Milwyn Casting, Fine Art Foundry—are due to go on show at Thomas Dane Gallery, London (23-24 October).

All profits raised by the 10gram Challenge will go towards Creating a Home For Sculptors”, a campaign to support the renovation of Dora House—the Grade II listed home of The Royal Society of Sculptors in South Kensington, London. Artist Rebecca Salter, the President of the Royal Academy of Arts, says: “I was thrilled to be asked to contribute a 10g sculpture to this project. The Royal Society of Sculptors plays an invaluable role in nurturing sculptors and encouraging a wider appreciation of the importance of sculpture.”
